About Final F words
Word-final /f/ can be sustained with nothing following it, which makes it audible and easy to check. The usual competitor at the end of a word is not stopping but voicing: /f/ drifting toward /v/, so leaf edges toward leave.
Final fricatives also carry grammatical weight in English through plurals and verb endings, and the f-to-v alternation in leaf and leaves is one of the clearer examples. For a child working on both speech and morphology, that pairing is worth noticing.

Holding the final /f/ past its natural length makes the voicelessness obvious, and a hand on the throat confirms there is no buzz. The list is short enough to work through completely in a session.
